Conservancy Outreach Coordinator
The public face of the Conservancy — and the cover that keeps the rest of HIVE-13 in the shade.
Role Summary
The Conservancy Outreach Coordinator is HIVE-13's public-facing role — running the pollinator-conservancy programs, school visits, and community partnerships that the org is openly known for. The role builds genuine conservation goodwill and education while maintaining the cover that keeps the org's field and science work out of the spotlight. Every honest meadow walk and classroom hive is both real conservation and the shade the rest of the mission works in.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver public conservancy programs — tours, education, citizen-science, and community partnerships.
- Serve as the org's public point of contact and maintain consistent, deniable messaging on its scope and activities.
- Build and steward relationships with landowners, schools, and conservation partners that enable field access.
- Produce outreach material and manage public channels within the approved disclosure boundary.
- Coordinate with Dispatch and Legal to ensure no public activity exposes sensitive operations.
- Route any inbound inquiry that touches operational matters to the appropriate cleared lead.
Required Qualifications
- Communications, outreach, or environmental-education background.
- Genuine conservation knowledge and public-facing polish.
- Discretion and the discipline to hold the cover boundary.
- Relationship-building skill across diverse communities.
Preferred Qualifications
- Nonprofit or conservancy program-management experience.
- Media-handling and crisis-communications training.
- Pollinator or apiculture public-education background.
