Operations & the Apiary Command

Operations is the working heart of HIVE-13: the directorate that keeps living colonies healthy, moves the Swarm where pollinator life is threatened, and converts charter and doctrine into the procedures the rest of the Command executes. It stewards the apiary grid, runs colony lifecycle from brood to retirement, and holds custody of the SOP library.

Mandate & Functions

Steward

Apiary Grid Stewardship

Keep the open apiary grids and containment cells running — colony weight, brood temperature, floral-resource load, and husbandry across every HCL band that lives on the floor.

🜂Dispatch

Field Dispatch & Interdiction

Task the Swarm and stand up duty crews against credible pollinator threats. Targeting and tier live in the Target Dossiers; this department runs the operations desk behind them.

📘Doctrine

SOP & Doctrine Ownership

Hold custody of the SOP library and keep field practice aligned to the Intervention Doctrine — every procedure owned, revised, and signed.

🐝Lifecycle

Colony Lifecycle

Manage colonies from brood and queen rearing through swarm tasking, splits, and retirement — the living throughput of the apiary, tracked end to end.

Coordinate

Production Coordination

Sequence the apiary's harvest and yield work with the Production line — honey, venom draws, and breeding output scheduled against colony health, never ahead of it.

Triage

Quarantine & Triage

Isolate diseased, invasive, or HCL-escalated colonies; run the triage queue and recovery protocols so a single sick grid never threatens the whole floor.

Operations answers to the charter, not the calendar. Dispatch is launched on threat, not on schedule, and never above the intervention tier set for a target without Directorate sign-off.

Interfaces

Who Operations works with. The department does not run alone — it sits at the center of the working floor and hands off in every direction:
  • Engineering — keeps the Swarm fleet, containment cells, and apiary systems airworthy and serviced for dispatch.
  • Facilities — owns the physical grids, vaults, and power on which the apiary floor depends.
  • Legal & Compliance — clears intervention tiers and signs off escalation before any field action exceeds doctrine.
  • MELISSA — synthesizes live colony conditions, dispatch briefings, and plain-language SOP digests across the whole directorate.
