MELISSA / Telemetry Analyst
The human interface to MELISSA — fusing swarm telemetry, sensor mesh, and registry into one defensible picture.
Role Summary
The MELISSA / Telemetry Analyst is the human interface to MELISSA, HIVE-13's data-fusion layer — tuning, auditing, and constraining the system that fuses drone-swarm telemetry, the NectarNet sensor mesh, and the colony registry into a single operational picture. The Analyst translates intent into tasking the system can run safely, reviews outputs for bias and out-of-doctrine escalation, and owns the human-in-the-loop gate on any interdiction recommendation before it reaches a field team. MELISSA is the force-multiplier and the sharpest liability at once; the Analyst keeps a person accountable for what the machine suggests.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and audit MELISSA's data feeds, models, and recommendations, certifying provenance and freshness of inputs.
- Correlate swarm telemetry, NectarNet returns, and bloom-health data into a sourced, confidence-rated operational picture.
- Review MELISSA outputs for bias, drift, and out-of-doctrine escalation before they reach operators.
- Own and exercise the human-in-the-loop gate on any interdiction recommendation, with authority to withhold it.
- Document model behaviour, overrides, and failure modes for after-action and governance review.
- Brief Dispatch and field teams with a current, sourced picture before and during operations.
Required Qualifications
- Data-systems, machine-learning, or geospatial-analytics background.
- Experience with sensor-fusion and decision-support systems.
- Rigorous sourcing and analytic-confidence discipline.
- Judgment to constrain automation under an escalation doctrine.
Preferred Qualifications
- AI-governance, model-audit, or alignment experience.
- Time-series and telemetry-pipeline tooling fluency.
- Cross-division fluency between engineering and field operations.
