Evidence Lockup & Chain of Custody

The Evidence Lockup holds the physical and digital material gathered during interdiction — seized goods, lab assays, surveillance footage, NectarNet telemetry, financial records, and specimen samples. Every item is bound to a target dossier, carries an unbroken custody log, and is curated by MELISSA so that, if HIVE-13 ever refers a case to prosecutors or regulators, the evidence survives scrutiny.

Custody Principles

🔗Continuity

Chain of Custody

Every package records who collected it, where, when, and every hand it has passed through since. Each transfer is signed and time-stamped; no item moves without a logged custodian on both ends. The chain is the package — break it, and the contents lose their meaning.

🛡️Integrity

Integrity & Hashing

Physical items are bagged and tamper-evident-sealed; digital items are hashed at intake and re-verified on every access. MELISSA seals each package against its hash and flags any mismatch instantly, so tampering is detectable rather than merely forbidden.

⚖️Admissibility

Admissibility

Material is collected, documented, and stored to a standard that survives referral to prosecutors and regulators. Provenance, custody, and integrity are kept clean from the field forward so that evidence holds up when a case leaves HIVE-13's hands.

One package, one custody log. The Evidence Lockup is the single source of truth for interdiction material. Working copies, summaries, and analytical extracts live elsewhere — the sealed original never leaves custody except by logged transfer to a lawful authority.

Evidence Register

Active and archived evidence packages, each bound to a target dossier in the Target Dossiers. Custody status is curated by MELISSA and revalidated on every access.

Handling & Referral

Custody discipline. A single unlogged hand on a package can render the whole case inadmissible. The rules below are not advisory — they are the condition under which evidence retains any value.

Field collection and tasking flow through Dispatch & Target Dossiers and Field Operations; legal handling and referral are governed by Legal & Compliance.
